Design & Concept
Originally conceived by Constance Guisset as her graduation project, the Vertigo pendant quickly evolved into a signature piece of Petite Friture. Shortly after its debut, it drew attention from the renowned Galleria Rossana Orlandi in Milan and has since entered several prestigious permanent collections, including the Museum of Arts and Design, the CAPC Musée d'Art Contemporain, and Museum of Modern Art.
The original ambition behind the design was bold: to create an oversized, graphic suspension light that would feel almost weightless. The result is a striking yet airy structure that appears to float effortlessly in space.
Atmosphere & Visual Effect
The wide, enveloping silhouette is formed from hand-applied polyurethane ribbons stretched across a lightweight fiberglass and steel frame. Despite its generous 200 cm diameter, the lamp weighs only 0.6 kg, giving it an exceptionally light presence.
When illuminated, the ribbon structure casts subtle, layered shadows across the ceiling, creating a soft, intimate ambiance. Even when switched off, the lamp acts as a sculptural focal point within the room.
